Use mist pass to generate detailed sculpting brushes in Blender
from any 3d-model. Here is few interesting brushes I’ve done with this method:

Machine parts and greebles
Ears and eyes / other face parts
seams for clothing
explosion / meteor craters
hole in wall / ceiling
The result is not exactly the same as my original scene, but I used all the same methods, so you can do very similar if you watch closely what I did. I hope you can learn something from this.
